Thanks for the suggestion. I confirmed the basic information, and I was just now getting back to adding the logging configuration stuff as recommended by the help documentation. So just to reconfirm what I was seeing - I tried to connect with screen sharing just now from the same remote location where it had previously failed - and it worked fine. Ugh. I detest intermittent problems. Right now I will write it off to my cellular data ISP at the remote location. Thanks again for responding to me.
