Why are you looking at object files when you don't even know the basics of programming?
I mean, why might you not want to learn the guitar before listening to van Halen? Sometimes having a clear end goal lays out the steps toward learning a skill. Learning about object files and documentation in a vacuum might seem dry and academic to most people.

If you don't know how to create a object or executable files it is pointless trying to reverse engineer an so file. Look at learning source code first in whatever language you choose.

There is tons of source code and useful documentation available these days, learn from that instead of trying to reverse engineer.

Using your guitar playing analogy it should be more like you are measuring the physical properties of the guitar strings before learning to play a note.
