have you added the commands from the linked post to config.txt and cmdline.txt (and not any other change made for UART on GPIO)?I grabbed the 40-pin Du-Pont style shell for the GPIO connector, totally missed the new debug port.Which connector and pins on the Pi5 are you plugging that USB UART into? The 40 pin GPIO header or the dedicated debug UART header?By default, does that imply it can be changed? Seems like it can't, so I'll have to get some JST SH connectors or a micro hdmi adapter to find out whats going on.Boot loader serial output goes to the debug header by default on a Pi5. Even without BOOT_UART=1.

this will give you the boot console on GPIO (with your Pi5). Make Sure to have updated your Firmware.
