If you're doing something cross-platform on RP2040 and RP2350, you can't rely on there being an RTC there at all. The RP2040's RTC isn't great, since it doesn't survive reboots.… I just want a way of setting the Pico's idea of the time up, and having it tick on (and on....)
If you've got space and budget for it, a battery-backed DS3231 keeps very accurate time even without power. You have to be careful of cheaper clones that are less accurate, but even they might work for you if you don't need extreme accuracy
