Hi All,
I got a brand new Pi5 4GB model. Its the first one I've owned from having a Pi4 and a Pi400.
I'm having problems getting any audio out of the HDMI. I'm using HDMI0 for my display which is a TV so has sound on it. The volume settings on the TV is set around 15.
When booting the pi with a brand new install of PiOS 64bit Bookworm I'm not seeing a sound icon on the desktop bar. My config.txt file located at /boot/firmware/config.txt is showing the dtparam=audio=on along with all the other default stuff in there. I haven't done anything with this file other than view it.
I know that on the pi4/400 I could use the hdmi_drive=2 and hdmi_group=1 and even hdmi_force_edid_audio=1 in the config.txt but they are legacy commands and from what I've read shouldn't be used on the pi5.
I have tried purging the pulseaudio and reinstalling it etc bit nothing is happening. I'm still not getting any sound at all.
Why is so difficult to get sound out of these??
Any help would be appreciated.
Regards,
Brett
