Hi,
My son and I had a lot of fun building the CamJam's EduJit 3 robot (some pics attached). We went a bit beyond the original code and control the robot with keyboard over SSH and also setup a camera which sends images back to the screen so it can run around remotely. So great fun![]()
We're still new to robotics and want to move up to more powerful motors. I can see these motors are available (https://thepihut.com/products/dc-gearbo ... -3-to-6vdc). Can you tell me if these are compatible with the motor controller board of the CamJam kit. For example, could I simply remove the jumper ends and connect it to the board as done for the original robot?
Any resources/tips on how to think about running larger motors with Rapsberry Pi also appreciated.
Thanks
David.

One of the CamJam Kit developers is an active member of these forums and has been online during the past week so he may notice your query and respond here.
Alternatively you could reach out to the Developers via the Issue Tracker they run for their kits - https://github.com/CamJam-EduKit/EduKit3/issues
The Motor Control Board is available from The Pi Hut as an independent component. Its Product Page is here - https://thepihut.com/products/camjam-ed ... controller
It simply says it can handle 2x6v motors. So far so good.
It doesn't say how much power (effectively the current draw in Amps) it can manage. That detail will probably be in the DRV8833 datasheet to which a link is provided. I haven't read it. Over to you...
