Thanks both.

Unfortunately it's not related to the IP config , we can see in the kernel debug messages on the mailing list it gets stuck on waiting for rot device /dev/mmcblk0p2...

Same issue as in our logs:

I'm not clear about with regards the not being "open source" comment. There are multiple proposals and work done on upstreaming the rp1 driver, as well as a documentation for the peripherals found on it.
