Pi5, latest bookworm june 2025. 4gb, nvme hat default OS system drive.
Alternative boot drive Usb or Sd or both.

The default way to select the boot menu is to press space bar, then it should open the boot menu over hdmi.
Over Mipi screen usually this hasn't worked for me.

I was thinking of the Pi5 shutdown button... if it could be used for something else other than boot up or shutdown...
Maybe add a function so when kept pressed, like with Mac OS, it lets you choose the start disk.

And if this solution could not work bc the button is in fact just acting on the power pin alone, then maybe it could be possible
to make a proper "grub" button, or whatever is called the boot menu on the Pi latest Os...
So where is the "space bar" input function that opens up the menu, we could add a normal switch button, or add
as suggested before, a time event to the power button to do the same function of the space bar.

I would love if this function was then added to the default rpi-os.
If the power button is unavailable, then let use one available pin for the momentary switch and add an easy config
file so a special boot menu order button can be added by everyone the same way the would add a reset button, or a power off
button, or maybe turn on-off gps or wifi, without the need for a full keyboard.
