If they are releasing a beta, you'll find most of it in there.when they put it out. We tested bookworm last time, albeit not a long dragged out test but a test none the less. Will Raspberry Pi OS Trixie still support X11 for those who currently use that ?The desktop will also still be labwc/wayland.
Prior to the official Raspberry Pi release of Bookworm I hacked '/etc/apt/sources.list' and got myself a Not Quite Bookworm which was useful to do but I still got caught by some unexpected and unanticipated changes when it was officially released.
It is avoiding unexpected surprises which only manifest on the day of release, which is inevitably unannounced in advance, which I will be hoping to avoid. It is very disruptive and inconvenient to have clients who upgrade as soon as it comes out who will then demand an immediate fix for software which gets broken by that upgrade.
