That seems to have done the trick, after 10 minutes of being switched over to another input and then switching back the desktop was responsive. I'll try a longer time this weekend.
Does anyone know why this happens? is it a KDE Plasma on RasPi OS thing or a Pi hardware thing? Be interesting to know.
... I personally would try to reproduce it with KDE6 Debian Testing and an own Pi5 kernel (latest RPL 6.12 sources and firmware/EEPROM). KDE5 (if that is what you use) is old/outdated IMO.
I understand that KDE Plasma 5 is old, but 6 isn't in the repositories yet as far as I know. Testing with Debian with an RPL kernel might just be above my pay grade; I ain't that experienced!
