...you can just disable it 'definitely' by stopping wayfire from running wf-panel-pi on start up.
You can do that by editing the file "/etc/wayfire/defaults.ini" and comment the line which says "autostart0 = wfrespawn wf-panel-pi".
Just a note to say "Thank you" for taking the time to come back and post this. This helped me when I was attempting to deal with the "Taskbar shows up ~30% on screen instead of being completely hidden" issue. Would be nice to have the Task Bar be optional, but this gets the job done for now. Thank you.
