I had hoped that basilisk might be a good browser for pi's with less memory. It's developers seem to have the right attitude about long term support and not changing for change's sake. See their home page.
But there are issues. Here are some of the findings about basilisk at its own pi forum topic.
It does use less memory than most other browsers.
Basilisk has trouble with YouTube, and other general performance issues.
It's based on older (or cruddier) code.
Basilisk barely runs on 512MB pis, though it does run on a Pi 3B or a Pi 3B+.
