As said by 'bjtheone' there have been a number of discussions on this over the years. There is no single utility to do it for you and it's not always easy. The hard part is often determining what the big ticket items were, for example 'samba', rather than the numerous dependencies which may come with those, so they can be filtered out and ignored.Any advice of what's a good way to list all the stuff that's been installed over the years?
I would also go with "if you cannot remember what you installed; don't worry about it". If you haven't installed something on a new system it will likely soon become apparent if needed.
The alternative is putting a lot of effort into discovering what you had installed for little gain.
