Beginners • Re: starting systemd service after GUI is up

My son is the property manager for a state park with a small museum, and I'm helping him out. The video is controlled by a setup created by a previous volunteer. It has issues and no support, and relies on infrastructure that's going away. I'm setting up something where they'll have the ability to completely recreate it if needed, donating my time. Having fun, too. I'm a retired networking and embedded systems programmer but used an RPi.

I omitted the command because I know with certainty that it's irrelevant (as I explained) but here you go:

ExecStart: /home/pi/start.sh

Unrestricted access to this device would give the person the ability to make it fail to work, or just steal it. There's no network, and security is not an issue. The security holes exist with or without a GUI, given access to the device; the bar is only a little higher. But thanks for the tip.
