Installing the Unix port of micropython with apt won't be too much help. It doesn't have the same network or hardware support. You'll also pick up significant latency with Python on Linux compared to MicroPython on hardware.
Fair points. Though I imagine what the impact is depends on which features are being used.
Full disclosure: I've not used upython on Linux, just knew it was possible.
