In a separate test I used a linux (x86) system (Debian Trixie, KDE Plasma) with Imager 2.0.3 (AppImage) to write Trixie 64-bit OS, with customisation settings for WiFi, SSH etc., onto a spare micro SD Card. Booted a headless Pi Zero 2W from that - waited 15 minutes - logged in via SSH and ip address. It all worked fine.
