I'll give it a try.
Having looked at his linked thread I'll fix the main mipi-dbi-spi overlay to add the format parameter. The overlay was written in March 2022 (5.15 kernel), whilst support for b6x2g6x2r6x2 was only added in June 2024 (6.11 kernel).
All the kernel source is open source and open for contributions, so it's more helpful if folks create PRs for overlays than hiding them away in forum threads
