Troubleshooting • 28% non-contiguous files?

My media server is a Pi5. The disk that holds the media files recently died, so I purchased an 8TB SSD as replacement. My backup copy of the files sits on a Windows desktop PC, so after formatting the replacement disk ext4, mounting it, and sharing it via Samba, I used robocopy on the Windows machine to copy all the video and audio files (slightly over 17000 of them) to the new disk. Everything seems to be working fine, I can play any file I try from the media server, but when I unmount the disk and run fsck against it, it reports that just over 28% of the files are non-contiguous. The files were copied one at a time - I didn't have multiple streams copying at once, so why are so many files split?

Code:

pi@serviio:~ $ sudo fsck.ext4 -f /dev/sda1e2fsck 1.47.2 (1-Jan-2025)Pass 1: Checking inodes, blocks, and sizesPass 2: Checking directory structurePass 3: Checking directory connectivityPass 4: Checking reference countsPass 5: Checking group summary information/dev/sda1: 20585/244191232 files (28.4% non-contiguous), 846468113/1953506304 blocks
Should I worry about the large number of non-contiguous files?
