An 'ideal tach' is representative of the actual speed of the fan ... which has no Idea what a cooling map and thermal trips are.
where is segment which deals with the temp input feet into hwmon?
If you want to control from userspace you will also need to have a sensor available which can be querried from lm-sensors i.e. which you then use from userspace (i.e. via fan2go).
