Troubleshooting • Re: New router : change connection settings on a Headless RPi4B ?

Hi everyone !

I just moved, and due to a technical issue with my optic fiber connection, my internet provider is lending me a 4G Wifi-Router (ZTE U10e) for a while.

I have a headless RPi 4B that allows me to run Birdnet-Pi (https://github.com/Nachtzuster/BirdNET-Pi) and I view the results via a local web page.

Since the connection informations have changed, my RPi no longer manage to connect to the Wifi, and I can therefore no longer see the data it generates.

I tried modifying the wpa_supplicant.conf file by adding these parameters, but nothing works :

Code:

ctrl_interface=DIR=/var/run/wpa_supplicant GROUP=netdevupdate_config=1country=FRnetwork={ssid="MySSID"psk="MyPassword"key_mgmt=WPA-PSKproto=RSNpairwise=CCMPgroup=CCMPauth_alg=OPEN}
Basically, the only thing I can do right now is take the microSD card from my RPi and put it in my computer to modify it manually.

Do you have any suggestions?

Thanks !

Jean
Turn off the ISP router.

Turn on the Personal Hotspot on your phone with SSID and Password to match what is on the Pi.

Connect the Pi through the personal hotspot.

Use a SSH program on your phone or other device to the local WiFi network to access the Pi and make changes.

Shutdown Pi and stop hotspot on Phone.

Restart ISP router and Pi.
