Chris did you get it to work? The reason that login screen is coming up is because the LCD driver is removing some critical OS components.Just bought the Raspberry Pi 5 - Pironman5 Max which I bought in kit form.
I have the following for the Pi with the IO Connector - its running Pi 5 Full Bookworm Desktop from NV-Me SSD
1. 3.5 inch touch screen
2. TV HAT
For the 3.5 touch screen, the manual refers to switching off Jumper 5 under the OS, and disconnecting the GPIO10,, I know the expansion board with the IO has jumpers for the LEDS (5) and GPIO10 I think, once I had done the Jumper and Software switch it rebooted up with a text start up, never went to full desktop, finally prompting me for userid / password, the userid was populated with my logon ID (name) but when i keyed my password it kept saying invalid and re-prompting me, if I went restarted it again I was taken back to the same prompt. I was not sure how to get out this, as it wasn't booting from SD, and even I put the SD in, it still kept booting from NV-Me 1st. so I had to power down, remove the boot NV-Me, format in a PC then and reboot from SD, then copy the SD back to NV-Me and make it bootable again.
Is there a way when it tries to boot from NV-Me to skip that with the SD and boot from the SD and copy the boot back to the NV-Me without formatting it every time?
On the TV Hat, doI need to disable J5 under OS and disconnect GPIO10 as well, to get the TV card to work, as if I don't, it just hangs on boot up (even with the software installed)
Chris
