I just got into the world of DRM and hardware acceleration. It's all very blurry and abstract, so I had a hard time reading your threadCorrect. DRM doesn't have a way to rotate framebuffers by 90/270 degrees. I opened up a thread about this a while back and developed a workaround on Pi4 and Pi3. On the Pi5 your only option AFAIK is to decode into a GL texture and rotate that. I can basically play 2160x3840@60 that way.Sadly it doesn't support 90 and 270 rotation on rpi 5 so I gave up.
