I've pulled out the plug from the Pi without unplugging the adapter loads of times and never had an issue...Maybe I was just lucky. :shock: :o

Are you absolutely sure that these were genuine SD cards? There are a lot of fakes out there..Some are OK...some not so...

Have you got any other devices that you could try the cards in? A smartphone for instance? Does that recognise it?

I'm not that familiar with Mac OS interoperability with Linux...but there's something here about drives formatted as ext4 not being able to be read natively on Mac...I wonder if there's anything there that might be of help...

I hadn't thought of that, but definitely an ABS case!

They were genuine Sandisk and had used them many times but now just fried. Not even acknowledged let alone recognised. I could just as well be inserting a plastic washer!
