And how are you trying to do that? Ask for a baudrate of 38400 and it just works.

I ask the same question to you. Would it be possible to make a Pi OS .img with Midi pre-enabled or just sell me a Usb stick or Sd with the preloaded .img for a Pi4B/4gb??? I only have SLIM MIDI HAT that uses pins 14-15 for standard MIDI com...
I open Ardour or Cardinal, with a Virtual instrument, set it to listen to Midi input on port 128... send a Midi sequence into the SLIM MIDI hat Midi input... and listen to the -null- activity on the Midi port with Midisnoop or gtksel*
