Looks fine to me. It's a learning project, not a product, and certainly not for giving to someone else. Was built to satisfy curiosity, and will probably be pulled apart later. In all likelihood the individual components were sitting on the bench, and working. Probably were nailed down onto a board to tidy things up for a glamour shot for the magazine.

I think you're missing the point. That being that the concern is that someone will try to copy the project without an understanding of the risks involved. Then again learning what happens when you get it wrong is likely a valuable lesson.
This thread is basically concern trolling. The project write-up contains literally no detail to copy. In fact it's very poorly written and almost entirely devoid of content. Maybe the original designer should have heeded the warning in this thread and not attempted anything at all since it is "too dangerous". No-one would get hurt, and we'd have no article, and nothing to talk about.
