A counter to your voting scenario is the current system is broken. In the UK, govt sometimes tries to adjust voting boundaries but this is nothing compared to the mad shapes the US voting districts end up looking on a map. For most people in democracies, their vote does not count: you have to live in a marginal area for your vote to have an effect. Thus it could even be AI voting could turn out better - in theory. Someone would mess with it though if it looks like upsetting the status quo.
I think I mentioned watching different reaction videos to the same things previous. It's amazing the level of self-censorship youtubers will subject themselves to for fear of a copyright strike. This is implementation of AI in a bad way. An algorithm training humans. Some of which will go on to train evolving AI.
