There was no edid-decode, had to apt-get it. There was no edid file at the noted folder. There was an edid_override in both the HDMI-A-1 and HDMI-A-2 folders, both empty. I tried asking "Claude" and nothing worked, plus I had to teach Claude that the Pi5 is different from everything that came before. But it and I both agree that there's an EDID problem, so I am gonna try an EDID emulator inline. I did manage to get the alsa stuff edited so that it sees both cards as default audio via HDMI. But the blank screen issue gets in the way of full testing.
