I use an "HDMi Micro" to "HDMI" adapter.Remove the uSD from the Pi, connect HDMI display and power on.
Do you see a boot diagnostics screen? That one is rendered at a resolution which should be supported by and decent TV/Monitor (maybe not bx CCC displays that have HDMI interface boards which are hot according to spec).
Do you use anx kind of adapters on HDMI?
Report your findings.
But I don't think it's the adapter because I've always used it connected to the cable.
TV -> HDMI cable -> Micro HDMI adapter -> Raspberry PI 5
Or
7" display -> HDMI cable -> Micro HDMI adapter -> Raspberry PI 5
I've always used it this way and it's never given me any problems.
What's more, when I record the EEPROM, the screen turns green!
I try both on TV and on the 7" 1024x600 display.
There is something wrong with the Raspberry PI 5, either hardware or software.
