Ok great. I keep all my important files on an external drive (32 GB USB flash drive) so not a big deal if the system corrupts and it didn't seem like it was anywhere near powering off yesterday. So I will keep using it like this. It lasted my from 6:00 am to about 11:30 am yesterday and had only used about 1/3 to less than 50% of the battery power which was awesome battery life. I could get more battery banks and extend the life even more if needed.That lightning bolt is the undervoltage warning.
You can't 'damage' the HW but your filesystem may get corrupted if your Pi powers down all off a sudden.
Although I have to test it with my external USB flash drive plugged in and see if it works properly.
