Being on the Internet is being on the same network. "Not connected to the same network" implies it's not going to work, unless the two networks are themselves connected to the Internet, and that someone has performed the magic incantations.Why? My RPI is on a 192.168.0.* network and my server is 216.187.94.179 yet through the magic of TCP/IP they can talk to each other. I read this as the OP's lack of understanding of routing on the Internet.That's a bold strategy.Very important thing Raspberry and FTP server are not connected to the same network
