I have not pulled my 500 apart yet to see if it is the same PMIC, but that makes sense.Occam's Razor would suggest that the RTC didn't move from where the Pi5 has it.
Others have and so it is possible to see the unpopulated bat connector position.
Shipping Lithium batteries is an issue, so maybe that's why.
I just ordered some 75W SW PS modules but missed seeing the Pi5 RTC battery from my local Pi guys.
Maybe next order, will check to see if they also have matching PCB connector.
See if they also have some of those splogers or what ever they are called to open phones etc?
It took a bit longer for the get Pi500s here downunder, probably FCC approvals, so I am behind the ball and playing catch up.
Next is making a cordless drill battery adapter.
