Would be great to see future Raspberry Pi Products adopt Sony's SLVS-EC Interface. It's much higher bandwidth to support the future high frame rate and high resolution sensors. Especially if Raspberry Pi themselves could update their camera module catalog to include some.
Especially now that the RP1 chip is the first component in the imaging pipeline, Raspberry Pi could build this receiver into their next gen chip ( RP4? ) and pass pure pixels down the rest of the ISP pipeline on the SOC.
There are a vast selection of sensors, especially when it comes to size. ( smartphone size all the way up to medium format sized sensors. )
As I understand there is already a good working relationship between Raspberry Pi & Sony, so I'm optimistic about this becoming a reality. Maybe with the Pi 6?![:)]( "Smile")
