I'm sorry but what do you mean by hardware to read it? Not sure if it means the pi itself or something else.What hardware have you got that can read RFID-RC522?

Programming language is python, thought this was standard on raspberry pi.
I have looked at the thread but in the end i dont fully understand it and still get the externally managed environment errors. Can't try right now but the guide might work, might also not, as it is for a pi 3 and installing libraries gives the externally managed environment errors.
Also did some research and saw that the mfrc522 library might be dependent on RPI.GPIO, not sure if it's true but if so then i'd need a replacement library that works with gpiozero.
