There are various "weather stations" that have been made with both Linux Pis and Picos. I've personally built one with a Pico using arduino code.
One of the great things about doing projects with Pi and Pico is that whatever you want to do; someone else has most likely done something close to what you want that is already in the public domain so you don't have to start from scratch. I make extensive use of the Arduino code for my Pico projects...Arduino has been around much longer than Pico so there's a huge amount of code available and most of it will run on Pico (I’ve yet to find any that didn't)
