Do they work with RaspiOS? Are they supported? No, I didn't think so.
Presumably, the idea is to run the USB capture device on the Windows PC, and run the HDMI output of the Pi into the HDMI input of the USB capture device.

So, drivers for the USB capture device on the Pi is irrelevant. What matters is drivers for it on Windows. Apparently, that worked for OP in the past, but no more, presumably because of a Windows "upgrade".

Which shows again that every time they "upgrade" Windows, it gets worse.

Anyway, yes, hooking up a serial device on the Pi and a suitable "comm program" on the Windows side is clearly the best answer to this problem.
