I use Sandisk Extreme Pro SDCard 128GB for RPI 5 64bit Os. How is it compared to a SSD? Dumb question but, a cheap or extreme SDCard compared to SSD for RPI 5 could be right to discuss here. How mutch do an ordinary user gain, to switch to a local SSD?
Another thing with SDCard. You can use other cool linux os, wothout the troble you get wit a SSD. If you use an SSD, You maybe stuck to the same os, like I was with Windows! Now, I feel free with the Raspberry Pi imager and a smart SDCard, that offer alot, over Windows and a SSD.
SDCard rules!
