General • Re: Pico W overheating/fried using servo driver board

You should really take specifications more seriously if you expect consistent results.
Pico W is reportedly consuming between 40-150 mA. The board is rated for 50 mA.

With all my 400-600 MHz overclocking, I didn't manage to fry even the cheapest Pico 1/2 clone I have ever tested and (ab)used ... but pay no regard to power supply, then expect the unexpected to explain the inexplicable: viewtopic.php?p=2263160#p2263132
Or leak 5V on non-tolerant 3.3V inputs and "wonder why.I wonder". Sorry.

I wish you good luck !

P.S. Another story: https://www.reddit.com/r/raspberrypipic ... comes_out/
I was originally operating under the assumption that it would draw about 40-50 mA per what I had found online - never saw that it could get anywhere close to 150 (but after you mentioned it, I looked around more and found multiple sources confirming this and stating average draw of over 60 mA during a ping. Whoops!)

But yeah - lesson learned, one pico WH fried, and two slightly borked but still functional: better than 20 imo! lol
