The rotation is applied to the frame buffer only --> your frame buffer is rotated, but what comes out of the display interface connector will remain 1920x1080.I don't understand that.no! A screen that is 1920x1080 native resolution will happily display 1920x1080@60,rotate=90 as from the screen POV it's still supplied with a 1920x1080 timing.that's what i'm saying it's a limit of kms cause of mode matching.
It do not need to have such a mode in EDID!
If you display a screen with 1920x1080@60,rotate=90, the screen will be trying to display 1080x1920 which it is less likely to support.
The timing of the display itself is never affected by the rotation.
The scan direction of the display is not affected by the rotation (if it scans left-to right and top-to-bottom it will still do so even when there is a 'rotation-value')
