A fresh install today, August-11-2024, of bookworm Pi OS (64-bit) Desktop to a Pi 4 fails to connect to various external usb-ethernet adapters. This was not a problem with legacy bullseye. After weeks of google, it turns out support for this in the kernel disappeared. Therefore, I want to see if rolling back to kernel 6.1.21-v8+ will fix the issue. But maybe it won't be necessary to roll back so far, so I'm asking which is the most recent version of bookworm before usb connection support disappeared?
