^This. There are a LOT of reasons to move it off the router, and a Pi makes a great system for DHCP, DNS, and Time servers.The DHCP server or NTP servers don’t have to run on the router.
It’s just a convenient location given the router is usually up 24/7.
You can move both services to the Pi if you wish.
